About

Stardust Stories
Our Mission

What We OFFER

Stardust stories is a storytelling and entertainments company for children. We aim to bring stories to life through performance and play, specifically focusing on characters and themes. We lead performance workshops which include interactive games, movement and song. Our aim is to develop confidence, social skills and imagination.

We take the subject out of the classroom setting and get the children to think in a more creative way about the topic. We want the students to actively use their imagination and engage with the topic to create their own characters with back stories.

We use performing arts to engage children in topics that they are learning about in the national curriculum. The workshops are suitable for primary school students including Early Years, Reception, KS1 and KS2.

Our Aims

How We Entertain The Little Ones!

We aim to awaken the child’s imagination and encourage them to use it. No idea is too silly, there is no right or wrong answers. We want the children to feel confident and comfortable expressing themselves without the usual restrictions of school life. So often now people are so scared of what other people may think of them or how they are viewed in society. The workshops aim to make the students feel comfortable and confident, free them of their inhibitions and be themselves without feeling judged or humiliated.

The characters in which they create will help them to do this. In the workshops they can be whoever they want to be within the topic we are exploring. They can express themselves using voice, physicality, movement and gestures. We provide costumes and props to set the scene and make them feel part of the world they are recreating. We want to immerse the children into the world that they are exploring so that each child can create their own story within that era through devising and improvisation.

Why did I start?

Stardust Stories

The reason I have started this company is because I know and understand through my teaching experience that each and every child learns in a completely different way. Unfortunately not every child’s needs can be approached in every school day.

We come in, to approach learning in a different and more creative way. Sometimes the children are having so much fun they don’t even know that they are learning about the African culture or the history of Great Britain or the environment. This is because they are using a different part of their brain to think outside of the box in a more creative way.

I know this because all through my education I was the child who learnt practically not academically.

Location

Who and where we are

The facilitators that come into the school are experienced in children’s theatre, teaching and from the performing arts industry. They have a passion for working with children to educate them in a more creative way. All of our facilitators have enhanced DBS checks and are confident leading workshops therefore the teachers can feel comfortable supporting the class however, not leading.

We are a nationwide company who have facilitators all over the UK. No matter where you are we will aim to get to you. Our main base is in the North West of England. However, don’t hesitate to contact us from wherever you are in the country.
