WORKSHOPS

Our history workshops are designed to bring the past to life! Students step into the shoes of historical figures and events, using props and costumes to truly experience the era. By connecting historical facts to immersive, interactive activities, we create a fun and engaging learning environment where history becomes memorable, tangible, and exciting.

WWI Workshop – KS2 Immersive Experience

 

Step back to 1914 and meet a nurse from the First World War to discover the vital roles women played on the home front and at the front lines.

Children will:

Meet a WWI nurse and explore her daily life and responsibilities
Handle props to learn about medical care and life in the trenches
Take part in role-play activities to understand the challenges, teamwork, and resilience of the era
Work together to create a final showcase demonstrating what they have learned about life during WWI

History (KS2): Women’s roles during wartime, life on the home front
English / Drama: Role-play, storytelling, writing tasks

WWII Workshop – Life on the Home Front

 

Step through the looking glass into the whimsical world of Wonderland!

Children will:

Step back to World War Two and meet a Land Girl to discover the vital roles women played while men were away fighting.

Children will:

Step into the shoes of women from the era
Explore challenges and responsibilities from farming and factory work to essential wartime duties
Create their own advertisements for their assigned role
Use realistic props in a final showcase, giving a tangible connection to the experiences of women during WWII

Vikings Workshop – KS2 Immersive Experience

 

Step into the world of the Vikings and discover what life was like for these fierce explorers, traders, and warriors.

Children will:

Dress in Viking-inspired costume pieces and handle props
Learn about Viking daily life, traditions, and beliefs
Take part in role-play activities to experience raiding, trading, and village life
Work together to create a Viking scene or reenactment using props and imagination

Titanic Workshop – KS1 Immersive Experience

 

Step aboard the RMS Titanic and travel back to 1912 in this interactive, hands-on workshop designed for KS1 pupils.

Children will:

Dress in pieces of costume to become passengers or crew
Handle props to explore life on board the Titanic
Take part in role-play activities to learn about the ship, its passengers, and the historic voyage
Experience storytelling and interactive scenes that bring the Titanic’s story to life

PSHE: Empathy, social understanding, teamwork

Florence Nightingale Workshop – KS1 Immersive Experience

 

Step back to the 19th century and meet Florence Nightingale, the famous “Lady with the Lamp.”

Children will:

Dress in costume and take on the roles of nurses, doctors, and patients
Handle props to learn about caring for the sick and wounded
Discover how Florence Nightingale transformed nursing and hospitals
Take part in role-play activities to experience life in a hospital during the Crimean War
Work together in a final showcase to demonstrate the care and teamwork they have learned

All workshops can be adapted from a full-day session with one year group to seven separate 45-minute sessions across multiple classes.
We tailor the experience to suit your school’s timetable, ensuring every session is fully engaging and accessible.
